Company

The "Egholm's Guitarbyggeri" was formed in 1990 in the city of Esbjerg, located on the Danish west coast.

Our initially goal was to build quality guitars and basses, and doing repairs, for amateurs and professionals alike.
The first workshop was located in the basement underneath our small shop, and the amount of machinery was very scarce, resulting in instruments, very much "handmade" indeed.

In the early years I also did many repair jobs as well, - and gained a lot of experience from those.
Subsequently I adopted the good construction methods in my instruments, and also learned wich = which to avoid.
The first basses was very much influenced by the very popular German "Warvick" basses at that time, and the guitars was typically modern Leo "Fender" - clones.

In the years of 1996-2001 I worked as an full time mechanical engineer in the world famous Danish wind turbine manufacturer "Vestas Wind Systems A/S", but I never stopped hand building quality basses.

Today the company name has changed to "Egholm Bass Guitars", due to the fact that we now are concentrating on building only world class - high quality basses.
We have moved to excellent facilities in the heart of Esbjerg, and have excellent machinery, enabling us to make around 250 fine instruments per year.

A new line of 4,5 & 6 string basses have been developed, incorporating the "best of the best" from years of experience.
The new models are, "The Thor Bass" and - "The Wiking Bass".

Years ago I started to make my own pickups, and have now gained a lot of experience in making those.
These hand-wounded pickups are used on all my basses, and they all have excellent tonal qualities.
